Brittania printmakers.

Year 3 pupils from Brittania Primary School spent a creative day working with printmaker Alan Birch at The Whittaker in Rawtenstall. Pupils produced some excellent drawings working from the collection before turning these into engravings which they printed on Alan’s portable press.  In the afternoon pupils explored the world of relief printing using textured wallpapers to create vibrant relief prints

“Thank you so much for having us for the day. It might not have seemed it but it is sometimes hard to hold the class’ attention but you managed it incredibly well and they had a lovely time. We don’t always get as time as we would like to do art justice but they definitely got to do lots on our trip. Thanks again for having us it was a great day!”
