'The GCSE printmaking workshop day was fantastic. The pupils absolutely loved the session and produced
an outstanding series of prints. It was incredible to think that they got through so many different techniques
and processes all in one day! Alan really worked with each pupil individually, helping them to realise outcomes
that were personal to their own project. A thoroughly enjoyable day and I look forward to the next workshop - thanks Alan.'

“Today we learnt to use techniques about printmaking with Alan Birch and Mrs Meaburn. Firstly we did dry-pointing in black and white. I thought it was amazing how we transformed a picture from card to paper, using ink and a special  machine called ‘ The press ‘. If i ever get the chance to to do it again, I would take it!”

Raheem . Year 9 pupil. Werneth School, Romiley, Tameside.

“My son was a visitor at your gallery from Greenfield School. He was very impressed with the work of Pablo Picasso and his print work of the spider. He enjoyed the gallery that much that he encouraged me to come along and have a look ( his mum ). He has now started to look at art and create his own models and drawings. He had no interest before. I feel your gallery has inspired my son to look at art in a different way and I think it looks great.” Thanks for the experience!

G.Barton after son took part in printmaking session at Gallery Oldham.

“I showed the inspectors the binded book as it was good evidence of child led learning. They were impressed. ‘ As part of the printing workshop the children not only learned a new skill but also developed creative thinking and how to work as part of a team. They really enjoyed the experience!’ . ‘The Ofsted inspectors were really impressed by the child initiated learning that took place during project’
