Hockney early prints.

Gum arabic print day.

Chris and Lorraine Waites introduced artists to the contemporary technique of Gum Arabic printing. The technique using photocopies and paper lithographic plates produces rich images and is relatively simple. Plans are afoot to hold another short course for interested artists. Reveal update

Over 240 visitors passed through Prospect Studios over the Reveal weekend, many first time visitors! The new series of Contemporary Saints went down well with visitors, causing amusement and intrigue. Many visitors purchased new Gum Arabic prints and the Modern Monsters found new homes to haunt!

Print at Penmon

The backdrop of Snowdonia and the lighthouse by Puffin Island were the inspiration for plein air artworks in September as four printmakers, made the most of the location. Sketches and etchings featuring the landmarks were developed during the day before artists enjoyed the hospitality. If anyone is interested in future workshops contact Alan.
