Christ the King School Art Week.

Pupils from Christ the King Primary School in Manchester, spent a creative week, looking at the work of ¬†Vincent Van Gogh, David Hockney and Lucienne Day. Working with artist Alan Birch, reception pupils worked on relief prints based on the work of Day, Year ¬†3 and 4 worked on relief prints and engravings based on David Hockney’ colourful landscapes and his tonal etchings for illustration for stories by the brothers Grimm. Year 2 worked on relief prints looking at Van Goghs landscape works. The workshops in conjunction with the Whitworth, were based on artists who have work in the collection.
